- Graphics Lead -
Kathy Sligh joined Whitetree in 2016. A U-Maine graduate with a Visual and Performing Arts degree along with a Psychology minor, she brought 20+ years of creative experience back to Maine from the mountains of Colorado. She's been enjoying her craft as a graphic designer for many different marketing and production environments, including a stint at the Vail Daily Newspaper which earned her the lead artist role. She was critical in the Spark Creative Agency role in design, account services, as well as project management, where she earned a reputation for a positive attitude and producing high-quality work. Connecting with people and delivering results is what makes Kathy tick. Moving back to Maine from Colorado in 2013, she dove into the school district where she was the art teacher for grades K-5. She spent a few more years as an educational technician, helping kids one-on-one in the classroom.
Currently, her second job is driving kids around professionally - its highly overrated and underpaid.
She's published in various voices of media, including The High Altitude Cookbook Series produced by her church group ladies. She does not recommend trying that recipe. Or the other one.
Kathy also spends her time volunteering in various areas, including the school, church, and community. She no longer has spare time.
Some of her favorite sayings to live by:
"Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way, you'll be a mile away and you'll have their shoes."
"When life shuts a door ...open it again. It's a door. That's how they work."
"Always trust people who like big butts....they cannot lie."
She lives in Cumberland, Maine where she is a mom to creatures two- and four-legged. She escapes it all by backpacking and mountain biking, skiing, and paddling, and most anything outdoors. Her future goals entail bringing back the hackysack and reuniting the world one small circle at a time...
